Meet Amy
Amy has spent over 20 years working with small-business owners and building relationships that go beyond the numbers. ALBS serves clients across the country, with Amy remaining personally involved every step of the way. With a small, trusted team, ALBS combines experience and dependable service with something that matters just as much: knowing the person behind the business.
For more than 20 years, Amy has built her career around helping business owners make sense of their numbers, stay organized, and feel confident about the financial side of their business. She founded ALBS over 10 years ago with a simple goal: to provide dependable, personal bookkeeping services while building genuine relationships with the people behind the businesses.
Amy believes bookkeeping should be about more than simply keeping the books. It's about getting to know each client, understanding how their business works, and being someone they can count on when they have a question, need guidance, or simply want to talk through something. She remains personally involved with every client and takes pride in being accessible, responsive, and invested in their success. For Amy, the best part of owning ALBS is the relationships she has built over the years and the opportunity to be a trusted part of her clients' businesses.
When she's not working, family is at the center of Amy's life. She is a proud mom to two sons and enjoys watching her family grow, including her two daughters-in-law, two bonus kids, and her new granddaughter, who has quickly become a very special part of her world. She also has two dogs who happily keep her company on her evening walks.
Amy loves spending time with the people she loves, making memories with her family, and enjoying the simple things in life. She considers herself incredibly fortunate, not only to have built a business she genuinely cares about, but also to have a life filled with family, meaningful relationships, and people who make it all worthwhile.
Born and raised in Iowa, Jennifer graduated from Iowa State University with a BFA in Visual Arts. She moved to Austin in January 1994 and spent her early years working a variety of jobs before becoming the front office coordinator at Laguna Gloria. In 1995, she began working for an art consultant, and shortly after marrying Colin, she stepped away from the workforce to focus on raising their family.
After several years at home, Jennifer started her own calligraphy business and, around 2009, began working part-time as the office manager for the Foundation at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders.
In 2015, Jennifer was looking for another part-time opportunity when she found her way to ALBS. She initially helped with special projects and gradually began learning QuickBooks and bookkeeping. In 2020, while much of the world was at home, Jennifer took ACC's bookkeeping courses online to expand her skills. As her knowledge grew, so did her role at ALBS. Today, Jennifer knows a little bit about just about every part of the business and helps keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Outside of ALBS, Jennifer continues to enjoy her love of calligraphy, working on personal projects and volunteering with Capital City Scribes, Austin's calligraphy guild.
